Heading into 2010 many Americans are making resolutions they hope will lead them to personal victory.  If you are engaged in your own resolution development process, let me encourage you to consider placing three life transforming and power giving resolutions at the top of your list.  First, determine to study and memorize God’s Word this year.  Reading it is good, but not good enough.  Just think how difficult it would be to pass a test just by random reading.  Learning takes study; thoughtful reflection, note taking and memorization.  (2 Timothy 2:15)

Secondly, resolve to believe all that God says in His Word.  Belief is never based upon your words alone, it is accompanied by action.  This year let your life speak for you.  Your conversations, your habits, where you go, what you do, what you allow into your environment, they all speak of who you really are and the credibility of your God.  Remember, your life is the most influential testimony you will ever give.   (John 2:14-26)

Finally, resolve to obey God as completely as you are able.  In other words, don’t make excuses, live the Word you know.  No one is perfect.  We all have and will continue to make mistakes, but we should not continue to make the same ones over and over again.  God is calling us up to a higher place in our commitment to Him.  Go with God and He will take you from glory to glory!  (John 14:21; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

I encourage you to gain power in 2010!  Resolve to learn, believe, and obey God’s Word.  You will experience a new confidence, courage and anointing in your life!

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His word, what a glory He sheds on our way.
When we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey;
for there is no other way, but to trust and obey. 

Take Away:   To love God is to keep His commands, to keep them, we must first know them.
